Love Letter

Elyrienne and wife

Shinelian,

I am writing this letter on the deck of the Sun Runner on what is most likely my last evening on board.  Jasyinne graciously agreed to extend his patrol to allow me to travel to Vasis in furtherance of my quest.  It has been just over ten winters since we last partook of each other’s pleasurable company, although the few letters I have received, I carry with me to read often.  The more time that passes, the more I hope that each reverie includes you.  Alas, a lot of time will pass before I can send another letter with any realistic hope of its delivery.  I pray that will not worry you overmuch, but as you know there is little communication between Vasis and Yasa Nalore.

I wish I could provide a more substantial update, but a sea voyage, after the first few days, is rather hypnotic and peaceful, assuming good weather of course, which we indeed have had.  Glorious days of breeze and sun, and the occasional amazing new fish arcing through the waters, and of course the captain and crew have made me feel most welcome, but I wouldn’t expect any less of a crew under the command of Jasyinne.  Of course, the breeze is always available, especially since Sun Runner is large enough to have a wind specialist to help guide the flows.

I feel like I am headed in the right direction, there is something pulling me to this human infested continent.  All of the research and exploration of Yasa Nalore have convinced me I needed to head this direction, and I had an amazingly direct vision clue from Lorien a few days before convincing Jaysinne to give me passage.  I know little of its society and rulers, or how welcoming they will be to me, although by the old reports I have seen, they are not the most trusting of strangers.  If nothing else, it should provide us with an update on its current conditions, but something is pulling at me so I have high expectations that perhaps I am on the right track.  We shall indeed see.

Even understanding the pull, and indeed welcoming such direct action, I wish instead of getting ready to row ashore onto a foreign beach, that I was coming into Sun Runner’s home port and returning to you.  You are never far from my thoughts, but I must rely on my memory to provide the imagery of your beauty and sound of your lovely music, at least for a short time further.

I will return to you soon, Lirimaer.

Vanimle sila tiri—Elyrienne
