A Letter to the Captain

waves

High Captain,

There are many things I wish to say, AB, arrived early this morning, fortunate that our TG found him prior to some Naga that ED discovered nearly simultaneously. I am not sure it was wise to entrust such a novice with such important communications no matter how much he desires to prove himself.  Although he does remind me of an earnest young sailor who first set foot on your ship over two decades ago.  As then, this time I will defer to your wisdom.

Shiolar will wait for one day for a reply, before returning.  If no reply or negative news is brought by then I will return to your location to offer assistance.  I write this quickly while others break their fast.

By LUCK’s chance, the cat led us to what appears to be only our initial destination.  We learned, through LUCK that the disease is not just a disease, but a curse.  Originally intended by LUCK to CREATE SUFFERING and VENGEANCE.  Our previous efforts have weakened the curse of SUFFERING AND VENGEANCE and LUCK has negated a third.  As a result, the maiden BR should see some relief.  AB has indicated this to be the case.  Unfortunately, we must CREATE a cure for the final piece or find a way for to DESTRUCTION to occur.  Evidence indicates CREATION may be available in Bhem Halam.  So we will search there, but the route will likely be easier if we return to the home of MD first, but we have less than fifty days until the end of the year and the possibility of significant change.

The messenger also provided information on the assassin who swayed GO’s allegiance towards her when we first traveled to our new house.  We request further guidance and information on what her and her allies may hope to achieve, as the messenger indicated we were not protected by certain mystical jewelry.

The investigator kindly requests that if it pleases you to relay a message to his professional brethren regarding the last known location of the Lady H from home.  We discovered her outside a mystical tavern at the confluence of rivers a bit over a day outside of your current residence.  She was seen outside a large cliff sculpted with a face and a hand, near an apparent animal sanctuary.

As much as it pains me to consider the possibility of the following, it should be noted that our new friend, the devoted K, brought to my attention the information that our dear friend ZM had to swear an oath of unknown detail to gain access to the hidden city for trade.  When oaths are potentially in conflict, please be cautious in sharing of details on our progress.

Lastly, I feel….troubled by your gift of jewelry.  I am not ready, nor worthy, to bear this burden. AB informed us that it is meant to help protect us from detection by the assassins and those who hope to breach the security of the gate, however, I do not accept this burden.  There are many years, decades, centuries even for you to continue to lead our family, and to guide me to greater wisdom.  I sense that you have sent this to me for other reasons than my niece’s protection.  I do not know enough to wield it properly, neither in mundane leadership nor in mystical command.  I do not desire this burden.  I wonder, why did you not give it to me prior to your departure?  Have events changed so precipitously since you returned to the city?  I only know that there should be more than just the handing off of the jewelry to the next in line, and I am not even next.

I beg of you, from a Captain to his High Captain, protect yourself at all costs. We will return for you, and your wards.

As always, I await your commands.

TW
